【Easy Cake RECIPE】No Custard Powder Low Sugar Ma Lai Cake | ❤️无卡仕达粉也能做出马拉糕的味道? | 0失败!无人造色素!低糖!

Good Morning! I must say I am addicted to making Ma Lai Gou! Especially find the rising part when steaming so therapeutic!

So me, as your guinea pig, try out this recipe and luckily it turns out well. Phew! So here I share my recipe in video and written form for your better understanding. 

Q: How to achieve the yellow colour without custard powder? 
A: I did not use artificial colouring, I used turmeric powder. Just a toothpick size will do, as you don't want your cake to have nasi brayani taste. 

Q: Will the cake have the turmeric after taste?
A: No, as I only use a very little amount of turmeric powder, and the vanilla essence or extract will mask out the taste of turmeric.

脸书有人反应,这阻断期间很难买到卡仕达粉(custard powder),所以我就想出了这个方法。自己先做白老鼠,看一看是否成功。好彩!成功了!所以在此用影片和文字分享,让你更了解情况。

Q:没有卡仕达粉,如何取得马拉糕的黄色效果?
A:我没有用人造色素,只用了黄姜粉。只需要牙签般的分量就够了。太多的话,你的马拉糕会变成黄姜饭!

Q:加了黄姜粉,马拉糕会有黄姜粉的余味吗?
A:不会的,因为只用那么一丁点,而且香精油的香味会盖过黄姜粉的味道,所以放心。

Ingredients成份:
A:
1 egg
1鸡蛋
5g water
5克清水
30g sugar
30克砂糖
All Mix well
搅拌均匀

B:
40g Self Raising Flour
40克自发粉
7g Milk Powder
7克奶粉
3g Corn Flour
3克玉米粉
Toothpick size turmeric powder(for colouring)
少许黄姜粉(调色)
(Sieve through all flour)
过筛

A&B Mix well
成分A和B搅拌至无粉状
Add 1/2 tsp vanilla Essence/extract
加1/2茶匙香精油
Rest for 15 minutes
醒面15分钟
Add 10g neutral flavour oil
加10克食油(我用葡萄籽油)
Rest for another 15 minutes
再醒面15分钟

In the meantime, coat moulds with oil
等待期间为模具上油
Pour mixture to moulds (pour to the brim)
倒液体入模具(倒到几乎满)
Steam 10 minutes on high heat
大火蒸10分钟

The smell & taste is quite close to my previous recipe, with hint of vanilla scent
味道和口感和我之前做的马拉糕有像,还带有一丝精油香
