Vlog #07/22 Pandan Mochi Waffle + Special Guest | 班兰Q弹华夫饼 | 特别来宾到! @FoodiEat随食慢活  Recently tried mochi waffle at a ice cream chain. It is delicious so want to recreate it at home. This is a pandan version, it does remind me of the pandan waffle that I always order from bread shop but this one is crispier even cold and more chewy. While I was making waffle, a visitor suddenly made his special appearance! Must watch till the end to see his full action. 最近终于试吃了网红美食麻薯华夫饼,真的好吃,所以决定在家试做。做了这个班兰口味华夫饼。口感和味道有像我常去面包店买的平民小吃,但这个更Q弹,而且冷了还带点脆。 在做华夫饼的当儿,突然出现一位特别来宾!一定要看到最后才能得到完整画面。 Pandan Mochi Waffle 班兰Q弹华夫饼
Ingredients 材料: 177g Milk 牛奶 1 Medium Egg 中型鸡蛋 1/2 tsp Pandan Coconut Essence 班兰香精 170g Self Raising Flour 自发粉 43g Glutitious Rice Flour 糯米粉 1/4 tsp Salt 盐 43g Sugar (I used Low GI Sugar) 我用低升糖砂糖

Method:
1. Mix Wet & dry ingredients 

2. Preheat Waffle Maker with oil 

3. Add Mixture 

4. Remove waffle after 3 minutes, Serve warm. 


做法:

1. 混合干湿材料

2. 加少许油预热华夫饼机

3. 加面糊

4. 3分钟后取出,即可享用。

【简单易煮RECIPE】零失败香港鼓油皇炒面 |一个人的早餐|Anyhow cook yummy HK Soy Sauce Fried Nood...




This HK fried noodle is a simple breakfast in HK, just like economic noodle or beehoon in Singapore.
Each time I go HK, I will have this for breakfast.
Not all eatery in HK serve nice fried noodle, some are just tasteless.
So when I crave for it, I will cook this for breakfast or even have it for lunch and sometimes dinner.

This is a foolproof recipe. Do give it a try and you will love it.

Hong Kong Fried Noodle 香港炒面

Ingredients:
1 block of fine noodle
3 handful of bean sprouts
1 tbsp mince garlic
1 tbsp of Soy Sauce
1 tbsp of Oyster Sauce
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp dark soy sauce
some sesame oil and pepper

Method:
1. Add noodle to boiling water  水滚后加面 (这份量可吃两大碗)
2. Cook for about 4 minutes till soft 煮约4分钟至软
3. Remove from heat   捞起备用
4. Heat oil add minced garlic  热油后加入蒜末炒香
5. Add bean sprouts 加豆芽继续炒
6. Add oyster sauce  加1 汤匙蚝油
7. Add soy sauce 加1 汤匙酱青
8. Add noodle and stir fried evenly  加面炒匀
9. Add dark soy sauce & 2 tbsp water 加1茶匙黑酱油和2汤匙水
10. Add about 1 tsp sugar  加一茶匙糖
11. Add some sesame oil 加点麻油
12. Add some pepper  加少许胡椒粉
13. Stir well and ready to serve  炒均匀后就可上桌

P.S. This version is without leek. Good for those who don't like spring onion, coriander, leek etc.
You can also add other veggie or mushroom if you want 你也可以加其他蔬菜和菇类

(For 2 - 3 Person) Ingredients: 1 and half cup Japanese Short Grain Rice 250g pork belly (I used soup meat as less oily and tender) 1/2 pkt roasted chestnut without shell 2 tbsp dried prawn (washed and soaked) 5-6 dried mushroom (washed and soaked) Rice Seasoning: 1/2 bowl mushroom water 1 tbsp dark soy sauce 2 tbsp oyster sauce 1 tsp five spice powder 1 tbsp shallot oil (marinate in rice cooker while you do the meat part) Meat and Mushroom seasoning: 1 tbsp hua diao wine 1tbsp soy sauce 1 tbsp dark soy sauce 1 tsp five spice powder 5-6 small rock sugar (Cook for 20 minutes or more) Method: 1. Fried dried prawn till fragrant. Add marinated meat and fry. 2. Simmer for 20 minutes. 3. Add meat mixture to rice in rice cooker.Top with chestnut and salted egg yolk. 3. Using traditional rice cooker, press "cook" mode. And let it cook till it turn "warm" mode. 4. Use rice bowl to form rice dumpling shape. Ready to serve. Note: This rice dumpling is not oily, as I used very little oil. Healthier Choice! Kurma Milk Recipe: Ingredients: 5 Kurma Dates 400ml Milk Method: 1. Blend till no more dates residue. 【简单易煮RECIPE】低油低盐咖喱面 |三种材料而已| How to cook Low fat Low salt Curry Mee | Fo...



I love all things with curry, be it curry puff, curry rice, curry with bread, with prata... the list goes on.
If you are like me, you will enjoy this easy to cook curry recipe. The ingredients i used is also very basic: just onion, potatoes and chicken thigh. I have cooked this N times and it never fail me.

Singapore Style Curry Mee  新加坡式咖喱面

Ingredients:
1 onion (slice)
2-3 potatoes (cut chunk) - I like my curry with alot of potatoes
1 chicken thigh  - I use skinless chicken thigh
2 tbsp chicken curry powder
100ml coconut milk
500ml water
1 chicken stock cube
1 tbsp soy sauce
a pinch of sugar

Method:
1. Blanch chicken thigh with cold water till boil.
2. Remove with heat and transfer to a pot.
3. Marinate chicken thigh with 1 tbsp of curry powder.
4. In the same pot fry onion till soften.
5. Add water and chicken stock cube. And 1 tbsp of curry powder. Stir well.
6. Add potatoes chucks and wait for it to boil.
7. Simmer for 15 minutes till potatoes soften.
8. Add coconut milk. Stir well.
9. Season with sugar and soy sauce.
10. Remove chicken thigh from curry and shred.
11. In a separate pot, boil noodle. (or beehoon)
12. Transfer to bowl and add in shredded chicken.
13. Add in potatoes and curry.
14. Ready to serve.

Tips: Add evaporate Milk for smoother texture.

我无咖喱不欢。之前上班时,每天都要买一个咖喱角配咖啡才满足。
吃咖喱时,无论配面包、配饭,或是直接吃咖喱面,都是我的首选。
最近,尝试用最简单的做法煮新加坡式咖喱面,不但非常成功而且很好吃又健康(我用很少油)。

Butterfly Pea Flower Mango Coconut Agar Agar 蝶豆花芒果椰奶果冻

For Blue Agar Agar
Ingredients:
7g Agar Agar Powder
500g Butterfly Pea Flower and Mint Water
70g Sugar

Method:
1. Soak Butterfly Pea Flower and Mint in water for 10 minutes. Sieve well.
2. Pour into a pot, with Agar agar powder and sugar. Stir well.
3. Remove from heat when sugar melt and texture thicken.
4. Pour onto mold half filled.

Coconut portion:
Ingredients:
270ml water
230ml coconut milk
70g sugar
7g agar agar powder
1 mango

Method:
1. Pour water, coconut milk into a pot, add Agar agar powder and sugar. Stir well.
2. Remove from heat when sugar melt and texture thicken.
3. Pour onto mold 90% filled. Add mango bits. Then pour the rest to the top.
4. Use toothpick to remove bubble.
5. Put in fridge to chill till harden and ready to serve.

Each time I go Ding Tai Fong, I will order the Crispy Prawn Pancake. These days need to save $$, so cook at home and discover a easy way to cook ( I cook using Air Fryer) and taste just as good as in restaurant.

Ingredients:
(to make 1 pancake)
1/2 pack prawn paste
5-6 small prawn (optional)
some carrot to dice
1/2 tsp coriander paste
1/4 tsp garlic paste
little oil
Bean curd skin

Method:
1. squeeze out the prawn paste in a bowl.
2. Add diced carrot, coriander paste and garlic paste, and oil. Mix well.
3. Get ready the bean curd skin. Cut to desire size. Do wipe away the salt on the surface (as it can be quite salty)
4. Spread prawn mixture on 1 piece and cover the other piece of bean curd skin and seal with corn starch.
5. Set Airfry or Oven at 150 degrees. Each side 5 minutes.
6. Cut into slices and ready to serve.

【简单健康Recipe】西洋菜排骨汤 Easy way to cook Chinese Watercress Soup




在家也能煮出小贩中心的老火汤水准-材料简单,煮法简单的西洋菜排骨汤,喝出健康又营养 |Easy way to cook Chinese Watercress Soup.

Ingredients:
1/2 pack of watercress  (washed)  半包西洋菜
2-4 spare rib   2-4 块排骨
some wolfberry   枸杞
1-2 slice of ginger  1-2片姜
1 honey date  1个蜜枣
pinch of salt and pepper   盐和胡椒粉调味

Method:
1. Put spare rib in pot before you on the heat. 
2. Remove spare rib when boil and transfer to a double boil pot.
3. Add ginger, wolfberry, honey date, watercress and water (fill 90% full)
4. Put in double boil pot and boil for 3 hours.
5. Add salt and pepper to taste. Ready to serve.

1. 用冷水川烫排骨(肉汁才不会流失),待滚后捞起。
2. 在炖锅里放排骨、枸杞、蜜枣、姜和西洋菜。加水至9分满。
3.炖约3小时。
4. 加盐和胡椒粉调味。
5. 可上桌。

Singapore Style Fried Beehoon in 3 Ways 炒米粉三式


我无米粉不欢。无论是吃虾面和卤面,我都会选米粉,我也超爱沙爹米粉。加上米粉的热量比面低,所以是比较健康的选择。
这次我炒米粉三式给你看,记得看视频以了解步骤,以下是英文食谱,视频有中文讲解。


You may ask : what are the 3 ways? It's my homecooked way, stew pork way and hawker food - economical bee hoon way.

I am a beehoon fan, I lke my lo mee with beehoon, I like my prawn mee soup with beehoon. I like to eat satay beehoon, fried economical beehoon, etc.

I have been looking for economical beehoon recipe for a long time and recently finally found the right recipe from a china app and modified a little bit.

So here to show you what are 3 types of fried beehoon I cooked. The beehoon I cooked is very simple as I used simple ingredients as I want to eat the most 原始味道 of beehoon with just the right seasoning.

1. Homecooked Fried Beehoon Recipe
Ingredients:
- Beehoon for 2 person (I buy the individual portion type so just take 2 pieces)
- 1 handful of beansprouts (if you want more can add more)
- 1 - 2 egg
Seasoning:
- half pack chicken stock
- 1 tbsp fish sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
some pepper

Method:
1. Heat wok cook egg and minced garlic.
2. Add bean sprout and soy sauce, stir fried a while. Add beehoon.
3. Add Chicken stock, fish sauce, dark soy sauce and pepper.
4. Stir fried till dry, Ready to serve.

2. Fried stew pork beehoon
Ingredients:
- 1 can Stew Pork
- Beehoon for 2 person
- a handful of beansprouts
Seasoning
- 1 - 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
- soy sauce to taste
- pinch of pepper

Method:
1. Pour whole can of stew pork and wait for it to boil.
2. Add beehoon and stir well.
3. Add oyster sauce and pepper, continue to stir fried.
4. Add soy sauce to taste.
5. Stir fried till dry, Ready to serve.

3. Economical Beehoon
Ingredients:
-  - Beehoon for 2 person (I buy the individual portion type so just take 2 pieces)
- 1 handful of beansprouts (if you want more can add more)
- 1 - 2 egg
- (Optional) fish ball, fish cake, cha xiu, roast pork etc. 
- half bowl of water
Seasoning:
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp fish sauce
- 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1 to 1 and a half tbsp oyster sauce
- pinch of garlic paste
- pinch of sugar and pepper

Method:
1. Heat wok cook egg.
2. Add bean sprout and beehoon.
3. Add soy sauce, fish sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, garlic paste and pepper.
4. Stir well till dry. Ready to serve.

Easy Healthy Recipe - No Cook No Boil Peach Gum Dried Longan Dessert 零失败桃胶桂圆红枣糖水






桃胶已经成为现代人负担得起的“燕窝”。不但非常养颜而且还有保健效果。我试着用焖烧罐煮桃胶桂圆糖水,效果还不错。在此分享给你看我的做法。

Peach Gum has become today’s women’s Best Friend. It has the effect of bird nest, and it’s more affordable. I used thermal pot to “brew” peach gum dessert, it’s as tasty as using stove to boil. You should try! Check out video: https://youtu.be/W4Nm07V8MLE

Serve 2 - 3 person

Ingredient:
6 - 10 dried Longan (washed)
3 - 6 red dates (washed)
100 - 200g Peach Gum (see video on how to wash)
30 - 50g rock sugar

Method:
1. Preheat thermal pot with hot water. Close lid and wait for 2 minutes.
2. Open lid and Pour away hot water.
3. Add red dates, dried longan, peach gum and rock sugar in the thermal pot.
4. Pour hot water till 90 percent full.
5. Close lid and let it brew for 5 - 6 hours.
6. Ready to serve.

CNY Baking | Miss Piggy Almond Cookies 杏仁饼干

Now it's nearing CNY and I am also busy preparing many Chinese New Year goodies. Almond cookies is a must bake new year goodies for me. Coming year is the year of pig, so I decided to design my almond cookies into Miss Piggy.
(Method see video)



Ingredients:
35g grounded almond
50g plain flour
25g icing sugar
30g peanut oil
1/4 tsp vanilla essence
Almond slices as Topping and egg wash

Method:
1. Sift Plain flour and icing sugar. Add ground almond and mix well.
2. Add peanut oil and vanilla essence and mix till form dough.
3. Preheat oven at 180 degrees.
4. Roll dough into balls and flattened them.
5. Egg wash all of them.
5. Add a small piece of dough just slight below the face to form nose.
6. Use toothpick to add piggy nose hole.
7. Add almond slice to form piggy ears.
8. Bake in oven for 25 minutes.
9. Ready to serve when cool.

每一年的农历新年我都会自己烘焙,因为可以控制摄取的糖分、油份和盐分。这个杏仁饼干是我每年必做的新年饼干。
很快就要到猪年了,我于是灵机一动要做小猪猪造型的杏仁饼干。可爱吗?

No boil No Cook Red Date Ginger Tea 生姜红枣茶

2019 is here! Good to see all of you here in 2019!
To start the new year rolling, it is the best time to 进补 (take in the nutrition).
I have been taking this drink since last year, as my health was not that good then.
Ever since, I have more energy and getting better everyday. So now, I would like to share this good and healthy drink with you.
And do you know this tea can help to reduce constipation and prevent flu? Yes it is a super drink too.
I used thermal pot to make this drink so it is very easy.



Ingredient:
6-8 red dates  红枣 (洗净)
1 - 4 ginger slice 生姜片
rock sugar (your choice to add more or less) 冰糖 (份量随意)

Method: 
1. Preheat Themal Pot by adding some hot water.  加少许热水入焖烧罐以做预热的准备
2. Cover lid and wait for 2 minutes.  关盖待2分钟
3. Open lid and add all ingredients.  开盖加入全部食材
4. Cover lid and wait for 3 hours.   关盖待3小时
5. Ready to serve hot.  可随时享用

2019年我们又见面了!新的一年是时候给自己的身体补一补了。生姜红枣茶不但养生,而且还有预防感冒和减少便秘呢!去年我的身体不好,就是靠它来回复元气的。做法简单,不用开炉灶也不用看火,只要用焖烧罐就可以轻松泡出养身茶。看视频就能了解做法哦!

SIMPLE EASY Japanese Curry with Pork Collar 日式猪肉咖喱



Is Japanese curry your favourite? Instead of chicken, why not cook with Pork collar?
I used Japanese Curry cubes that can be found at most supermarkets.
It's easy to cook just that you need some patience as need time to cook through.
From the video, you can see that I off and on the heat during the process. Reason is I do not want to burn the curry cube and make the mixture uneven.



Ingredients:
2 - 3 potatoes
1 carrot
300 gm pork collar
1 onion
3-4 Japanese curry cubes

Method:
1. Heat oil in wok and fried onion.
2. Add pork collar piece by piece and separate the meat to prevent from clumping up.
3. Add some water, oil and rice wine.
4. Once boiled, add potato and carrot chunks.
5. Add 300 - 500ml of water.
6. Once boiled, Lower heat to simmer for 15 minutes.
7. Off heat, add 3-4 Japanese curry cubes. Mixed well with the mixtures.
8. On heat again and simmer for 10 minutes.
9. Ready to serve.

最近一次去日本东京,找不到我之前爱去的那家日式咖喱店。最后没有机会真正吃到好吃的日式咖喱(不过却吃到好吃的天佛罗丼饭)。
回国后,还是很想满足食欲,所以决定做这份日式咖喱。希望你也和我一样,很满足!

Comfort Food #03 - Sweet & Sour Potato with SPAM 酸甜马铃薯炒午餐肉

This is my "will choose" dish when I choose my dishes at Mixed vegetable rice. Is that yours choice too?

Ingredients:
2 potatoes
1 can of SPAM or Luncheon Meat 午餐肉
1 handful of Mixed vegetable 杂蔬粒
2 pkt ketchup 番茄酱
1 pkt chilli sauce 辣椒酱
1/2 tsp sugar 糖
1/2 cup water  水

Method:
1. Cut SPAM and Potatoes into cubes.  午餐肉和马铃薯切丁
2. Air fry potato cubes to save time. Air fry at 200 degrees for 10 minutes.  为了省时,气炸马铃薯。200度10分钟。
3. At the same time, pan fry SPAM or luncheon meat cubes till golden brown. 同时间煎午餐肉至金黄色。
4. After 10 minutes, add potato cubes to pan. 10分钟后加进马铃薯块
5. Add mixed vegetable and mix well.  把杂蔬粒加进去
6. Add 2 pkt ketchup, chilli sauce, water and sugar.   加番茄酱、辣椒酱、水和糖,搅均匀
7. Simmer for 5 minutes till potato soften. 煨5分钟或至马铃薯变软
8. Ready to serve. 即可上桌

非常简单又好吃的新加坡料理,非常好下饭。

My comfort food- Fried Cabbage with dried shrimp 虾米炒包菜

This is my another comfort Chinese food. Is that yours too? I love all dishes with Hae Bee (dried shrimp), It has a distinct aroma that make all dishes taste so addictive and appetizing.
What are the dishes with dried shrimp? The famous Laksa, hae bee hiam (prawn roll) etc.
Just like prawn with shell, Dried shrimp is rich in protein, iron, calcium and vitamins. The amount of dried shrimp I used, only give us 13 calories. With cabbage to go with it, it is definitely a healthy dish.
Very simple to prepare and easy to cook. Only need 2 ingredients: cabbage and dried shrimps , with some seasoning. And it goes so well with rice. Sometimes I eat it on its own too.



(Serve 2 - 4 pax)
Ingredients:
1/2 Cabbage 包菜切片 (cut into pieces)
10-15 dried shrimps (wash and dried) 虾米
1 tsp minced garlic  蒜末

Seasoning:
1 tbsp Oyster sauce  蚝油
3 tbsp chicken stock   鸡汤
pinch of white pepper  少许胡椒粉

Method:
1. Heat oil in wok.  热锅烧油
2. Saute dried shrimp till aroma.  爆香虾米
3. Add mince garlic and continue frying. 加蒜末继续爆香
4. Add cabbage  加包菜
5. Add chicken stock, oyster sauce, white pepper and simmer for 15 minutes. 加鸡汤、蚝油、胡椒粉焖煮15分钟
6. Check for tenderness after 15 minutes. 查看是否是你要的软度
7. Ready to serve. 即可上桌

虾米炒包菜是我的喜欢的另一道家常菜。也是你的吗?材料很简单也很容易煮。是我的懒人美食。
任何虾米料理我都爱,尤其是虾米辣椒、Laksa、虾米卷等等。
虾米其实富含丰富的蛋白质、铁质、钙质和维生素,是女性的恩物。搭配蔬菜更是健康美食。我所用的虾米只含13卡路里,吃多了也不会胖。

[Use rice cooker] Steam mince pork with tofu 蒸豆腐肉饼

My mom used to cook this dish for me. It’s my comfort food. Is that yours too?
I always eat this with rice or porridge. And now I am on diet so I eat it on its own - with meat, egg and tofu, full of protein and nutrients. It’s a steam dish so it’s simple and healthy. And suitable for elderly and kids.



Ingredients:
1 unit of silky tofu  1块嫩豆腐
250gm mince pork   250克猪肉碎
1 egg   1个蛋

Seasoning:
1-2 tbsp soy sauce  一至二汤匙生抽
1 tbsp shaoxing wine  一汤匙绍兴酒
1 tsp salt    一茶匙盐
1 tsp sesame oil    一茶匙麻油
pinch of white pepper   白胡椒粉少许

Method:
1 Add all ingredients and seasoning together in a bowl and mix well.   把全部材料搅拌均匀
2. Steam in rice cooker for 15 minute.  用饭锅或其他蒸炉蒸15分钟
3. Garnish with spring onion and/or coriander. 可加葱花或香菜提味
4. Serve when hot.  记得趁热吃

P.S I used rice cooker to steam , means you can cook rice and steam this dish at the same time. Enjoy!

Test and Tried - Easy Poached Egg 简单水煮荷包蛋


To be honest, I seldom poached egg. As I saw some video that require one to keep stirring the water in 1 direction when add egg to pot. So I always do what I am familiar with, do soft boil egg, hard boil egg, fried egg, fried sunny side up etc, until recently I saw a simple way to do poached egg from Simplyrecipes.com/easy_poached_egg, then I again experiment this method.

Verdict: when put egg to pot, the egg white run more than the video show but I am happy with the finish product, egg white is firm enough and egg yolk is runny. Most importantly, IT IS SUPER SIMPLE AND FUSS FREE!
